Chêneaux

The Bassin d’Arcachon is composed of many little canals to access the ports. They generally stay filled with water as the large body of water empties out with the tide every 7 hours. On very high tides they will also be void of water.

This painting shows one of the many days when the tide is high but the winds are calm.
